This katana has a wooden scabbard that has been lacquered black with golden pine needles spread out over it. The sword furniture is of shakudo and shows delicate leaves and stems, also of shakudo. One side of the scabbard holds wari-bashi (split chopsticks). The tsuka is covered with white pebbled ray skin and wrapped with blue silk cord, the menuki are made of gold and are in the shape of dragons. There is no tsuba. The blade has two grooves on one side while the other side has only one. The hamon (temper line) is called a stray straight (suguha hotsue) line.
