- Changbai Mountain International Biosphere Reserve is situated in Jilin
Province, northeastern China. The vegetation in Changbai Mountain consists
of typical boreal and temperate components with sino-Japanese elements.
These elements occur in a series of uniquely well-defined zones. Two sampling
plots have been established, one located in mixed forest dominated byPinus
and deciduous trees, and the other inPicea and
- Abies dominated mature forest. The Chinese Academy of
Sciences has established a ecological research station that can host scientists
