| Four study sites are being sampled for comparison of the North American
and Chinese mycotas and for investigating biogeographic relationships. These
are: 1) the Huron Mountain, Michigan, U.S.A; 2)
Highlands Biological Station, North Carolina,
U.S.A., 3) Changbai Mountain Biosphere Reserve,
Jilin, China; and 4) a site yet to be identified in either Yunnan or Sichuan,
China. Permanent sampling plots are being established for various forest
types in each site. As part of this project, Fanjing
Mountain Biosphere Reserve has also been surveyed to obtain biodiversity
data in the southwest region of China. |
