ascomata superficial, usually tightly clustered, narrowly elongate to clavate, brown, small papilla darker

ascospores cylindrical, sigmoid, basal 1/3rd geniculate, apical 1/3rd swells and becomes pale brown, basal 2/3rds remains hyaline, septate, various sizes, with bipolar, short, pointed appendages

Terrestrial habitat, found on decaying wood, mostly hardwood.
