ascomata scattered or clustered, superficial or erumpent, obpyriform,
with vestiture, roughened or glabrous
ascospores cylindrical, sigmoid, basal 1/3rd geniculate, apical 1/3rd
swells and becomes brown, basal 2/3rds remains hyaline, septate, various
sizes, with gelatinous appendages or not
Terrestrial habitat, occasionally from freshwater, found on decaying herbaceous and woody debris and on dung.
