The material in S (n. 183) contains only empty ascomata, according to von Arx (label in 1952). However, we found ascomata with some asci with hyaline, non-septate spores in a bad condition (in KOH ascus c. 70 x 20 ?µm, spores c. 18 x 7.5 ?µm). This is certainly a Botryosphaeria species, as the cells in the ascomatal wall are comparatively large, brownish with a red or violet tinge, turning darker in KOH, but we prefer not to suggest a new combination on the basis of this bad material.

This is a Melchioria species. The spores measure c. 32 x 6 ?µm, but they are old and in a bad condition, and we refrain from trying to identify this material.
