Type: Bolivia, "prov. de Larecaja et Caupolican (vallées entre Tipoani et Apolobamba), Mai 1847", in bamboo culms, leg. H.A. Weddell (P!).
This species was redescribed by Eriksson & Yue (1990: 211), but they were unable to refer it to any genus, as the material was old and in a bad condition. It seems, however, to belong in the Diaporthales.
