Asset mapping illuminates ways to involve local residents in conservation efforts. By overlaying information about social relationships, social institutions, and different events or activities onto the geographical terrain of the region, we can determine which sites of the region are especially significant for environmental activism, which sites are imbued with meaning for local residents, and how sites are related. For more information, visit the Museum’s Center for Cultural Understanding and Change website.
