Calumet Ecological Park Feasibility Study
This is the February 1998 National Park Service Feasibility Study on the establishment of an urban ecological park in the Calumet region. It includes a detailed review of the pre-European settlement environment, its development and industrialization, and current cultural and natural resources. It provides maps of the study area, a list of rare and endangered species, and examines environmental issues and conservation opportunities.

Department of Planning & Development: Calumet Design Guidelines & Land Use Plan
These guidelines establish new landscapes that improve aesthetics and stormwater management for industry and the environment in Calumet. Rather than require standard mowed turf grass, the guidelines recommend a native landscape palette more compatible and functional with the surrounding landscape character, which includes the Calumet Open Space Reserve marshes, wetlands, and prairies.
