Vertebrate Paleontological Fieldwork 2004

Curators Dr. Lance Grande and Dr. Peter Makovicky conduct field excavations of vertebrate fossils in Wyoming. This site contains images from field expeditions and showcases the work involved in bringing fossils back to The Field Museum.

Green River Formation, Wyoming
Over the past 20 years, Dr. Lance Grande has collected thousands of fossils from the Green River Formation, near the town of Kemmerer, Wyoming.
