Research Interests:

My research interests focus on the ecology and evolution of stream invertebrates. Using molecular methods I hope to reveal evolutionary patterns and population differentiation in caddis flies. This information can lead to inferences on population history of species and speciation events. I am especially interested in organism groups with high numbers of local endemic species, e.g. the caddis fly subfamily Drusinae. I am also interested in using macroinvertebrates to classify and assess the ecology condition or running waters.

Current Research:

Phylogeography of montane caddis flies in Europe

Phylogeny of the caddis fly subfamily Drusinae (Trichoptera: Limnephilidae)

Larval taxonomy of caddis flies

Stream assessment based on macroinvertebrates
