Rhynchocyon

Elephant Shrew

There are 2 species known in Tanzania: Rhynchocyon cirnei and Rhynchocyon petersi. The color patterns on these elephant shrews are distinctive and variable. Rhynchocyon is the world's largest elephant shrew and eats insects, primarily ants and termites.
