Type Locality:
Kenya, inland from Mombasa.

Distribution:
Distributed from Angola to Mozambique and Tanzania and up into Somalia, Papio cynocephalus is found in a variety of habitats including woodland, dry bushland, thickets, steppes, and coastal littorals. (Kingdon, 1984, 1997)
