Using the mystery of The Sue Files to captivate students' imagination, this site takes fourth through eighth grade students on an interactive online investigation of whether Sue, a Tyrannosaurus rex on display at The Field Museum, could be responsible for the disappearance of Dr. I. M. Prey, a Museum scientist. This site consists of two areas:
  1. Student Section: standards-led activities that enable students to investigate the mystery by making observations, developing hypotheses, questioning assumptions, testing ideas, and coming to conclusions

  2. Educators' Resource: introductory material (both to the underlying science and to standards-led curriculum), curriculum instructions, assessment tools, and a place to post curriculum modifications and ideas

While you can always jump to anywhere in the curricula by using the navigation buttons on the upper right side of the page, we suggest you start by pressing the continue button at the bottom of each page and let us walk you through the main features.
