Personal objects found in tombs and settlements provide archaeologists with a greater understanding of ancient Egyptian daily life. Like us, ancient Egyptians wore cosmetics, adorned themselves with jewelry, and used perfumes. Precious and rare items were often buried with an owner so that he or she could make use of them in the afterlife.
