Lori Breslauer currently serves as Acting General Counsel at The Field Museum. She provides legal advice and counsel to the Museum on a wide variety of matters including collections management/cultural property, exhibitions, education initiatives, business affairs, intellectual property, and insurance. In this capacity she provides assistance to the Museum’s Repatriation Office concerning the Museum’s compliance with federal repatriation law and its response to requests for return of cultural items from Native American and indigenous peoples from around the world.
Lori earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and her B.S. from Purdue University with highest honors. She has worked at the Field Museum since 1994.
