Tatzyana (Tyana) Wachter organizes and maintains the Rapid Reference Collection and database. Working with Nigel Pitman and Juliana Philipp, she helps develop color guides to different parts of the world with many of them from Latin American countries. She also assists with visitors from Latin America that come to work on tools for conservation. In addition, Tyana handles the department's travel logistics, which are often complicated given the remoteness of the areas in the Rapid Inventory Program.
Tyana’s history with The Field Museum spans over three decades. Prior to her work with the Keller Science Action Center she oversaw the Forest Dynamics Project funds in Ecuador and maintained databases in the Herbarium, Bird, Fish and Herpetology Divisions.
Tyana graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.S. in Biology.
