Research Assistant III
Integrative Research Center
I started as an intern in the Pritzker Lab for Molecular Systematics in the summer of 2008 while I was still finishing my undergraduate degree, and I have since become the staff technician in the lab. My work here originally revolved mostly around gathering Sanger sequence data with our ABI 3730 DNA sequencer, but has evolved to include everything from field work to analysis of next-generation sequencing data. I have worked with flowering plants, ants, butterflies, lichens, birds and a variety of different microbes. In addition to my work here, I am currently a studying to get a M.S. in computer science at DePaul University.
You can find me most weekdays taking questions during our lab’s ‘Talk To The Scientist Hour” from 11 am to 12 pm. Stop by and say hi!
