Mummies: Images of the Afterlife

From deep within The Field Museum’s vaults comes the mysterious world of mummies. Mummies: Images of the Afterlife (working title) will share the newest discoveries by Field Museum scientists on the Museum’s oldest collection. The recent research—using CT scans, isotopic testing, and DNA analysis—reveals much about the lives, health, and beliefs of individuals who lived thousands of years ago.

The exhibition will showcase over 20 mummies and dozens of other artifacts, leaving The Field Museum for the first—and last—time.
