SUE the T. rex is having a sleepover! The lights dim as you explore the rituals of ancient Egyptian culture, guided by the light of your flashlight. Next, you prowl an African savannah with giraffes, hippos, and man-eating lions. Take a break by playing games from around the world or looking at giant bugs from right in your backyard.  Cap your night of exploration and adventure with cozy bedtime stories, before drifting off to dreamland in one of our amazing exhibits. Shifting Sands: On the Path to Sustainability - Documentary Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Don't miss a special screening of the much anticipated documentary film Shifting Sands: On the Path to Sustainability followed by a panel discussion at The Field Museum on Saturday, May 7, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Field Museum collections from the Calumet region will be on display in front of James Simpson Theater from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM.

It’s What I Do: An Evening with Lynsey Addario

The Field Museum Presents It’s What I Do: An Evening with renowned photojournalist Lynsey Addario Go on assignment to the world’s most dangerous conflict zones with a MacArthur Fellow and Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist. Lynsey Addario has survived death threats and kidnappings to bring back powerful images from war-torn regions such as Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan for National Geographic and The New York Times. She’ll share her heart-pounding story and explain what keeps her going back to places most of us would never venture.

Art and Science Spotlight - Bird Bonanza!

Every third Saturday of the month 11am-2pm. Free with Basic admission. The Crown Family PlayLab invites you to join us for Art and Science Spotlight, a special program that brings storytellers, musicians, painters, and other performers to the Museum to meet you and your little one! The Crown Family PlayLab is free with basic admission and is open Thursdays through Mondays from 10am to 4pm, last admission is at 3pm.

Dino Camp: Session 1

Dino Camp: I Spy a Dinosaur! Do you? Calling all preschoolers and caregivers! Join us for a unique two day summer camp exploring the world of dinosaurs. Dino Camp is an early childhood camp, designed expressly for young explorers ages 3-4 with their caregivers. During the two days of discovery we will learn how to spot a dinosaur, see Sue’s skull, dig for dino bones and much more. The program takes place from 9:00am - 11:30am in the Crown Family PlayLab. $76 for non-members/ $67 for members
