Youth Council

Youth Council is a dynamic group of passionate and dedicated high school teens who work together to create a stronger partnership between The Field Museum and teens. Youth Council is made up of 12-14 high school teens from across the Chicago area who meet on select Saturdays from September through May, and plan three curioCITY events. curioCITY is a teen-only event of career exploration that matches a Field Museum scientist together with a non-scientist.

This year, The Field Museum's Youth Council will help vision, plan, and run three teen only events at The Field Museum. What does this look like? We need teens to come up with meaningful, positive, and thought-provoking experiences bringing teens across Chicago-land and beyond to engage in career exploration with Field Museum scientists and other professionals in diverse career paths.  Youth Council participants will also have the opportunity to go behind the scenes at The Field Museum and meet other museum youth councils.

Applications for Youth Council are now open! We welcome rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to submit an application. Learn more and Apply Today!
