Design-It Play-It: H2O Games!

After School Matters Program with Teens

After School Matters Advanced Apprenticeship

Learn game design and explore freshwater ecosystems! The Field Museum invites Chicago Public School high school students to apply to Design-It Play-It: H2O Games, a 10 week advanced apprenticeship program, offered in partnership with After School Matters. In this program, youth will meet Field Museum scientists, go behind-the-scenes of the Museum and see spaces closed to the public, and take field trips to the Shedd Aquarium and Jardine Water Purification Plant. Youth will meet a professional game designer and work in teams to create scientifically accurate board games about water ecosystems. Through this program, teens will work in design teams and use graphic design and 3D printing technology to develop their game. Applications for this program will be available in the fall of 2018 for the spring 2019 program. Check back for updates.
