Forum @ The Field

Join us for a unique educator event designed to enhance your understanding of Museum teaching and learning techniques, provide exposure to our unique and varied collections, and offer opportunities to mingle with like-minded colleagues. Highlights of the evening will include:

  • a networking reception showcasing The Field Museum’s educator resources

  • two mini professional development workshops including Student Questioning Techniques and Visual Thinking Strategies that will take place inside some of our most popular exhibits, creating an immersive learning experience

  • a welcome and key note address from a Field Museum scientist

  • a self-guided exploration of the Specimens: Unlocking the Secrets of Life exhibition ​

Please note the following when planning your visit.  You must be present by 5 p.m. to take part in this professional development opportunity and receive the 4 CPDUs offered.  Refreshments will only be available until 5 p.m.  Due to the nature of the event, you must arrive by 5 p.m. to be assigned to a small group.  The groups move throughout the Museum on a scheduled rotation.  Arrival after 5 p.m. will not guarantee you a spot in the rotation.

This event is open to all formal and informal educators in grades K-12.
