On Free Admission Days, basic admission is free for Illinois residents.

Must show valid proof of residency.* Additional Free Days for 2016 will be announced in late spring.

Illinois residents also have the opportunity to see ticketed exhibitions and 3D films at a special price. Choose a Discovery Pass and see one special exhibition or 3D film, or see it all with an All-Access Pass!

Discounted passes must be purchased on arrival at The Field Museum and are not available online in advance.

Please Note: Illinois based school groups, park districts, and youth groups must pre-register at least two weeks in advance of your field trip date to be allowed admittance to the Museum. Pre-registration is required on both discount days and non-discount days at the Museum.

*Proof of residency can be established with a current Illinois driver's license. If you do not have an Illinois driver's license, you may establish residency by showing a valid ID for another state along with one of the following:

  • Illinois lease
  • Illinois library card
  • Illinois student ID with photo
  • Illinois utility bill
  • Illinois work ID or check stub
  • Passport with Illinois address
