In honor of The Field Museum opening until 9 pm on select nights this summer, we’ve created Base Camp: a lounge where adults can drink, interact with our scientists, and take a break from exploring the Museum during Late Night hours. Base Camp will be open from 6 - 9 pm, featuring cocktails from Chicago luminaries including Nandini Khaund, a transformed bar, and little-seen specimens and artifacts from The Field's collections. Each night Base Camp is open, it will have an entirely different theme and scientists presenting. Tickets to Base Camp include All-Access passes to the Museum, entrance to the exclusive Base Camp space, snacks, and a specialty Field Notes notebook to document your journey.
Here are the dates and themes for Base Camp:
Tuesday, June 6th - The Tropics
Thursday, July 6th - Americana
Tuesday, August 1st - Hanging Gardens
Tuesday, September 5th - Caves
Tickets are $45, $13 for members (members interested in purchasing tickets ahead of time can call 312 665 7700 during regular business hours). Guests to Base Camp must be 21 or older.
Please note that admission to Jurassic World: The Exhibition is not included with your Base Camp ticket, but can be added upon arrival (availability permitting).
The event space is accessible to wheelchair-users and visitors who need to avoid stairs. For further accessibility information or to request additional accommodations, please contact us at least 2 weeks in advance by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling Noah Cruickshank at 312-665-7122.
