Mobile Planet was an intensive one-week game design workshop for middle school-aged teens and tweens. In this program, teens learned about the systems, processes, and critters that play pivotal roles in the world of soil. Participants met Mark Bramstedt, Soil Scientist at the Natural Resource Conservation Service, and learned about the world just a few inches beneath our feet. In addition, students learned about game design and created game prototypes. The teens used their knowledge of soil systems and game design to create an educational augmented reality game on soil for the ARIS platform. This program is a collaboration with The Pearson Foundation's New Learning Institute.
