Discovery Adventures

About this recurring event

Tune into this free, online event to learn about the natural world with up close looks at Field Museum exhibitions, collections, and research.

Field Museum educator Anna Villanyi holds a leaf mold for dioramas up to the camera to give a closer look to Discovery Adventures audience members.

From hidden gems to our favorite specimens, there’s so much to learn about at the Field Museum. Now you can explore the museum from wherever you are with Discovery Adventures. This free online series takes viewers on an interactive, educator-led adventure from the museum. See how the Field can enrich your knowledge of science, natural history, and world cultures.

This event is free. Join us on select Tuesdays, 11:30am–12pm.

Sessions for schools

Discovery Adventures are unique, online-learning opportunities for kids ages 7 and older. Schools can enjoy a special, student-only edition of Discovery Adventures for Classrooms on select Tuesdays, 1–1:30pm.

These sessions are still available for free, but groups must register in advance. Groups can also send their questions to Field hosts and educators before the session begins.

For questions about Discovery Adventures, registration process, or other online learning programs, email virtualfieldtrips@fieldmuseum.org.
