Field Explorers Summer Camp

About this recurring event

Investigate animal biology and natural history in this summer camp for young learners.

Children, accompanied by a counselor, race through the grass on the Museum Campus pulling kites along.

There’s so much to learn about the natural world and the part we all play in its continued survival. Explore this and more with our Field Explorers Summer Camp. Our five-day, in-person summer camp is designed for kids in grades 1–5.

Campers study the biomechanics of animals to learn how an animal’s unique adaptations help it survive. Every day campers focus on a different theme—dinosaurs and prehistoric predators, birds and other flying creatures, insects and spiders, and mammals and fish. Each camp session features chats with Field scientists, exhibition tours, guided scientific activities and demonstrations, and outdoor games.

Camps run Monday through Friday, 9am–3pm. Sessions are available throughout the summer:

  • July 12-16
  • July 19-23
  • July 26-30
  • August 2-6

Registration is $500. One registration is required per camper, per session. Space is limited.
