About this event

Enjoy a free outdoor screening of Toy Story and discover the science of living small.

View from behind two children sitting on a beach towel on the grass, watching an underwater scene on a large movie screen in the background. Several other people are seated on blankets or camping chairs.

From Men in Black to A Bug’s Life, each event pairs a popular feature film with a short science movie for a new perspective on topics like space and insects.

Movies take place on the museum’s northeast terrace, alongside family-friendly activities like specimen carts, a hands-on Dino Dig, and lawn games.

The Field Green Bar & Grill offers food and drink for purchase, including our Tooth & Claw brew and handmade pizzas. No outside food or beverage is allowed at the event. Cap off your evening with a view of the Navy Pier fireworks after each show.

Fossils & Flicks is free to attend, no registration required. Activities start at 5pm and movies start at 7pm. Arrive early to grab your spot!
