About this event

Senior Environmental Social Scientist Madeleine Tudor presents Latinx Voices, Calumet Stories

Madeleine Tudor, Sr. Environmental Social Scientist presents the Museum's amazing anthropology collections from the Calumet Region that showcase Latinx heritage, with a focus on the contemporary folk art of South Chicago artist Roman Villarreal and the South Chicago community area which is the oldest Mexican-American neighborhood of Chicago.

This event is part of our celebration of Latinx Heritage Month and work done by Latinx staff and collaborators at the Field.

Scientists, researchers, and collections managers are behind the scenes every day, uncovering new information and taking care of our collection.

During Meet a Scientist, you can find them in the Grainger Science Hub. They'll discuss their work and share real items from the museum’s collection of nearly 40 million objects. From collections care to field work, and dinosaurs to ecology, there’s a world of science to explore.

Visit the Science Hub on select weekdays for an up-close look at what our researchers do every day.
