Studying Biology With Mutant Flies
Teaching Systems Biology and Genetics Through Inquiry
Rebecca Spokony, Ph.D. is a postdoc at the University of Chicago. She is creating resources to study transcription factors in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. By attaching a green flourescent protein tag to the transcription factors their location can be studied visually and their genome-wide DNA binding patterns can be studied biochemically. To learn more about Rebecca and her research visit her University of Chicago profile and webpage, or the Kevin White Lab. This video can also be found on the Field Museum's Vimeo page.
