The Field Museum's Division of Environment, Culture, and Conservation was excited to help organize and host the third bi-monthly Chicago Southland Green Drinks at Harborside International Golf Center located in the Calumet region of Chicago. The event drew attendees representing business, non-profits, academia, government, and interested residents.
Focused on networking, education, and socializing, Green Drinks has helped many people find employment, make friends, develop new ideas, seal deals, and have moments of serendipity. It is a force for good, and The Field Museum is happy to help the Calumet Stewardship Initiative bring it to the Chicago Southland as a fun networking tool.
First organized in England, Green Drinks events are now hosted in over 750 cities around the world. Every Green Drinks is different, but they all have their roots in simple, organic, and self-organizing collections of people interested in environmental issues.
The next Chicago Southland Green Drinks will be held on September 14th, 2011 at Fifth Quarter Tap in Homewood, IL. For information please contact Erika Hasle.
