Join us for this hands on learning session for educators!

The Field Museum is excited to kick off its second year of After School Science Club programming influenced by scientists, research, and collections at the Field Museum. Students explore Zoology and conservation efforts by learning about how scientists at the Field Museum helped save the Peregrine Falcon from extinction.

This is a FREE 10+ hour hands on learning curriculum that includes materials and professional development for club leaders! We’re looking for educators and instructors who are interested in learning more about implementing this program in the Summer 2024 and/or the 2024-2025 school year. This is where you come in!

During the Part 1: In Person* Workshop, on Wednesday, June 12 from 8:30 am - 1:00pm educators will receive:

  • 1 parking validation at Soldier Field
  • Continental breakfast and lunch
  • Science Club curriculum and materials
  • 4.5 CPDUs

Following the Part 2: Virtual Workshop (Date TBD) educators will receive: 

  • An additional 1.5 CPDUs
  • A partnership with a Field Trip Liaison to arrange a student 'Meet & Greet' Opportunity with a Field Museum Scientist and/or expert 
  • Troubleshooting support and guidance throughout their club implementation.  

Registration is free and open to formal and informal educators leading an after school club for students in 6th-8th grade. Limited spots are available. 

*PLEASE NOTE* It is necessary to attend the workshop *in person* in order to receive program materials and receive an invitation to participate in the Part 2: Virtual Workshop.
