Register Your Field Trip Group

Schools and community groups serving Pre-K–12th grade students, register your field trip by completing this form at least 14 days in advance of your visit. Following Chicago's travel advisory, we are not currently accepting registrations for school groups in orange, "high-risk" states. College and university groups, please use review our group visit packages.

Field trips are only available to groups of at least 15 students and no more than 75. After submitting this form, you will immediately receive an email receipt of your registration form. We will review availability, create a group reservation, and email you a confirmation within two days.

Currently groups cannot have lunch in the building but can request a 15-minute snack break. We will provide groups with a space for students to social distance, remove masks, and eat.

Visit Information

The Museum is open 364 days a year (every day but Christmas) from 9am–5pm. Last admission is at 4pm. We’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred visit date. Be sure to check your school calendar to avoid any conflicts with holidays or in-service days.

Groups must arrive within 30 minutes of their arrival time to allow for social distancing.

Class/Group Information

Upon arrival, our staff will guide chaperones to a designated area to review protocols and make recommendations for the day. All students and chaperones, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks when inside the museum, except when eating or drinking. We ask that groups please try to maintain at least 3 feet (ideally 6 feet) of social distancing inside the museum.

Chaperones added to your group who exceed the recommended ratio do not qualify for an admission discount. 

We are only allowing a maximum of 75 students per group.
