Internships at the Field Museum—Explore career paths of a different nature
The Field Museum focuses on dynamic new exhibitions, scientific research, and educational programs concerning the Earth's environments and cultures. So if you’re seeking a different way to reach your goals, take the path that’s a unique journey of its own—an internship at the Field Museum
Constantly searching for excellence
Whether looking for the best intern or the answer to a scientific mystery, the Field Museum is constantly searching for excellence. Full and part-time internships at the Field Museum are open to undergraduates and graduate-level students of all majors, as well as recent graduates (6 months maximum). We offer both paid and unpaid internships. Paid Internships are highly competitive and the majority of them are located in our Collections, Conservation and Research Departments. For unpaid internships, you may be eligible for academic credit and/or special funding programs through your University- check with your Career Services Center. High school students are also eligible for internship opportunities through several programs at the Museum- please see the links below.
Perks that no other internship can give you
Interns get extensive hands-on experience and the opportunity to work alongside fellow interns who share their interests, as well as scientists and researchers who are world-renowned leaders in their fields. Throughout the summer, we offer a full schedule of activities and events just for interns, and you’ll also snag invites to staff events, new exhibition previews, and exclusive behind the scenes tours of our Collections.
