Catch the CTA to Pokémon Fossil Museum at the Field Museum

The partnership includes a limited-edition Ventra card featuring ‘Excavator Pikachu’ from the Pokémon Fossil Museum.

The Field Museum and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) are teaming up this summer to celebrate the North American debut of Pokémon Fossil Museum. Pokémon fans can build up excitement for the exhibition while riding select CTA routes featuring artwork from Pokémon Fossil Museum to the Field Museum. Riders can also purchase limited-edition Ventra cards with an image of Excavator Pikachu.

Pokémon Fossil Museum is such a fun, creative exhibition that connects natural history with popular culture,” said Bridgette Russell, Senior Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Field Museum. “The CTA partnership allows Chicagoans and visitors to explore the city, much like they explore at the Field Museum – while helping us recognize the fascinating connection between Pokémon and paleontology.”

“CTA is always looking for creative ways to connect riders to the people, places, and experiences that make Chicago unique,” said Eric Munn, CTA Director of Marketing. “This partnership with the Field Museum brings together transit, culture, and one of the world’s most beloved brands in a fun, engaging way. Whether riders are longtime Pokémon fans or first-time exhibition visitors, CTA is proud to help them enjoy  the experience from the moment they begin their trip.”

Keep an eye out for Pokémon Fossil Museum on select buses traveling across select bus routes, Red Line trains, and at the Washington and Wabash ‘L’ Station.

Limited-edition Ventra cards are available online only. Cards are available at an additional cost with the purchase of a pass or at least $5 of transit value. Ventra cards can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.
