Aliyah Young

Aliyah Young is the Collections Management Assistant for the Field Museum's Historic and Contemporary African Collections. In addition to this work, Aliyah is a part of the Africa and Ancient Egypt Exhibition Project . Prior to joining the Field Museum, Aliyah amassed experience in collections and archives management as well as education programming. Her work focuses on digitization and community engagement to improve accessibility and preserve the African and Black diasporic cultural material currently cared for by the Field Museum. Aliyah received her B.A. in Anthropology and African and Black Diaspora Studies with a minor in Latin American and Latino Studies and her M.A. in History from DePaul University. She also holds an M.L.I.S. with certifications in Digital Curation and Archives and Cultural Heritage Resources and Services from Dominican University.
