Alyssa joined the Field Museum in October 2020. She manages internal and strategic communications for the President & CEO and is currently writing the Field Museum’s Strategic Plan for 2022—2027.

At the Penn Museum in Philadelphia (2016—2020), Alyssa managed communications for both the Director’s Office and Development Department. This included crafting presentations and remarks for the Museum Director, leading the implementation of consistent voice and messaging across all museum communications platforms, managing donor stewardship, creating fundraising publications, overseeing the Expedition members’ magazine and the museum’s annual report, and coordinating with the website team as content editor. Her most memorable day at the Penn Museum was in June 2019, when its 12.5-ton Sphinx was moved 300 feet along a custom-built outdoor runway to a new home in the Main Entrance Hall.

Alyssa received her PhD in English from the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on 18th-century British literature, particularly travel writing and maps.
