<p><span data-sheets-formula-bar-text-style="font-size:13px;color:#000000;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:none;font-family:'Arial';font-style:normal;text-decoration-skip-ink:none;">For this Pop-Up PlayDate session, families with 2-6 year olds are invited to a free, drop-in music and movement demonstration in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. To celebrate, Huehuecoyotl performers will visit the PlayLab before their museumwide presentation to meet with guests, discuss their regalia, chat about celebration days, and even teach a few dance steps. Afterwards, families are encouraged to head upstairs to Stanley Field Hall to enjoy the <a href="https://www.fieldmuseum.org/our-events/indigenous-peoples-day/indigenous-peoples-day">full performance</a>.&nbsp;</span></p>

<p>This week's speaker is <a href="https://perl.calpoly.edu/people/dr-emily-taylor">Emily Taylor</a>, <span>Biological sciences, </span>California Polytechnic State University. She will present <em>Next Generation Natural History: What We Can Learn By Spying on Snakes With Secret Cameras.</em></p>
<p>This event is free to attend, and museum admission is not required. If coming from outside the Museum, you may enter through the West Entrance to join us in the A. Montgomery Ward Lecture Hall on the ground level.</p>

<p>The A. Watson Armour III Seminar Series is a weekly seminar highlighting the research of science professionals across a broad spectrum of scientific interests, disciplines, and lived experiences. This series connects the Field Museum&rsquo;s research, collections, conservation, and associated community with professionals at the forefront of life, geophysical, and social sciences. Lectures are open to the public and regularly highlight or complement research conducted by Field Museum staff and affiliates.</p>

Alongside other events taking place at the museum, this storytime will feature the fascinating world of fossils--what they are, where they come from, and how they can be used to learn about life long ago. </span></p>

<p dir="auto">Trick-or-treat yourself to a night of thrills and chills at the Field Museum! Ghosts, ghouls, and guests can learn about spooky specimens from our team of mad scientists, get up close and personal with creepy crawlies, tour the museum catacombs in an exclusive Behind the Scenes tour, create Halloween crafts, trick-or-treat with SUE, and more!</p>
<p dir="ltr">From a monster mash dance party and storytime in the <em>Crown Family PlayLab </em>to natural history bar trivia with a spooky twist in Stanley Field Hall, this after hours event will be a scream for Halloween enthusiasts of ALL ages.</p>
<p dir="auto">Later in the evening, explore the zoology exhibits as you've never seen them before - in the dark! Your senses will be put to the test in a series of challenges and obstacles as you navigate past the darkened dioramas. Are you brave enough to enter the realm of nocturnal creatures?</p>

<p dir="auto">For the safety of all guests, please do not wear costumes that cover your face or include prop weapons of any kind.</p>
