Paúl Sambrano
Paúl Sambrano is an operations specialist with 20 years of experience fostering collaborative work in the Amazon Rainforest. He leads the logistics for the Rapid Inventories and the general operations of the Andes Amazon Team.
Graduated in Ecology and Ecotourism, Paúl worked as a naturalist/bird guide for over 12 years in the Chocó and Amazon Regions of Ecuador. He also worked in the luxury active travel industry as a trip developer in Ecuador (Galapagos, Andes, Amazon) and a tour leader in Ecuador, Peru, Cuba and Hawaii.
On the Andes Amazon team, as the Operations Coordinator, he leads logistics for fieldwork for the Rapid Social and Biological Inventories (Brazil, May 2025 and Guyana, November 2024), including detailed pre- and post-fieldwork planning and team safety. The planning includes close collaboration with local authorities, indigenous communities, indigenous organizations, and scientists.
At the Field Museum, he is actively involved with the Latin American Heritage Month, and supports efforts to connect the Ecuadorian Kichwa community with the Museum.
