The Field Museum’s rapid inventory team spotlights the biological and cultural assets of the world’s richest landscapes to spur equitable and effective conservation.
Field Museum rapid inventories champion the world's unprotected biological and cultural diversity. We explore some of the richest places on Earth in search of large-scale conservation opportunities — landscapes that local peoples want to keep healthy and vibrant for generations to come — and then provide the scientific support needed to protect and manage those areas.
Since 1999 we have worked with hundreds of local communities and in-country organizations, and helped governments establish 20 new Amazonian conservation areas totaling more than half the size of Illinois.
