There’s no better way to get to the Field Museum on a beautiful day than by bike—easily access the Museum from Chicago’s Lakefront Trail. Public bike racks are available at the East and West entrances, as well as on the northeast and northwest terraces.
Borrow a bike with Divvy, Chicago's bike-sharing system. Get a 24-hour pass and take a bike from one of hundreds of stations across the city. Our closest Divvy station is on the southwest side of the Museum (McFetridge Drive). Visit Divvy’s website for station locations and pricing information.
From the north or south, access the Museum via the Lakefront Trail—follow signs for the Museum Campus.
From west of the museum, take Roosevelt Road just past Michigan Avenue, follow the path through the park over the 11th Street Pedestrian Bridge (over the Metra tracks), and proceed under Columbus Drive and S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
Driving is a convenient way to access the Museum Campus, especially if you’re traveling with the whole family! For custom directions from wherever you’re located, enter your address into Google Maps.
