Filipino American History Month

Filipino American History Month (FAHM) in October commemorates the first Filipinos to arrive in the continental United States at what is now Morro Bay, California on October 18, 1587. Celebrated in October, Filipino American History Month honors the history, pursuits, accomplishments, and legacy of Filipinos in the United States. In celebration of FAHM this year, the Filipino American National History Society (FANHS) is highlighting the theme of “From Quotas to Communities: Filipino American Migration and Movement, Commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the 1935 Filipino Repatriation Act and the 60th Anniversary of the 1965 Immigration & Naturalization Act.”

Plus, join in the conversation on social media through our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts during October and all year long.
