Australia&rsquo;s Great Wild North is the culmination of many years of work in the Northern Territory by Award-winning filmmaker, Nick Robinson, and his team from Wild Pacific Media.&nbsp; The film aims to capture the beauty of the land, its extremes and its indigenous people in a way that has never been done before.&nbsp; Robinson says, &ldquo;Culturally-speaking, Northern Australia has so much to offer.&nbsp; I believe it&rsquo;s vitally important to represent these stories, as they provide a wonderful lens through which we can explore the natural world.&rdquo;

Ever since the first time she went fishing with her dad, Lesley has looked at lakes and rivers with overpowering curiosity and wonder. As a conservation biologist, Lesley&rsquo;s mission is to protect Amazonian freshwater diversity through rapid inventories that protect wilderness, biodiversity, and the livelihoods of local communities. When she&rsquo;s not exploring the Amazon, Lesley is hard at work encouraging future scientists.

The first exhibition of this series honored Lynika Strozier, who was a Black woman, a Chicagoan, a person with a learning disability, an educator, and a former scientist at the Field Museum. But to her colleagues, friends, and family she was also a mentor, a light, and a force for joy.&nbsp;

The Changing Face of Science&nbsp;exhibition series highlights the work of scientists and science educators who are women and/or people of color, along with their passion for advancing knowledge of life on Earth.

Sara learned to love nature during walks with her grandparents and she created a miniature "museum" for her family at age 6. As a herpetologist, Sara works to convey the value of understanding reptiles and amphibians. But being a scientist is just a part of who she is&mdash;with interests including fashion and poodles, Sara shows us that you don't need to compromise who you are to be a stellar scientist!

Learn the untold history of four Kumu Hula (master teachers of Hawaiian Hula) who perpetuated, preserved, and protected Hula as a way of life.

Listen to the voices of Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) as they tell their own history and learn how their community continues to thrive in Chicago and beyond.

Chicago- and Hawai`i-born Native Hawaiians continue these practices together and act as co-curators for this limited-time exhibition.

On the city's lakefront to perform a chant to greet the sunrise, Chicago-based Hula practitioners gather around an `ipu heke, a traditional Hawaiian percussion implement made of two gourds.

In this exhibit, Chicago designers celebrate their heritage, culture, and communities by creating looks inspired by items in the Field Museum collections and the vibrant African design scene in Chicago.

Discover how Chicago&rsquo;s African-inspired design scene connects global traditions with local creativity in&nbsp;Connecting Threads: Africa Fashion in Chicago. Featuring stunning garments, jewelry, and textiles from talented Chicago-based designers like Olivia Ogbara, Stephane St. Jaymes, Hayet Rida and Jennifer Akese-Burney, this exhibition explores fashion as a medium for storytelling and cultural expression. Visitors will experience thematic environments inspired by Chicago&rsquo;s skyline, enhanced by Robert Earl Page&rsquo;s custom patterns, and interactive programming like panel discussions and collaborations with&nbsp;Black Fashion Week USA.

 A perfect complement to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.fieldmuseum.org/exhibition/africa-fashion">Africa Fashion</a>, this show celebrates community, culture, and creativity.

Connecting Threads—Africa Fashion in Chicago

Experience the ocean like never before and be inspired to protect our planet&rsquo;s fragile ecosystems!

Dive into VR Odyssey: Drop in the Ocean, an immersive virtual reality journey that shrinks you and up to five friends to explore the underwater world from the back of a jellyfish. Encounter marine creatures like leatherback turtles and whale sharks while discovering the beauty of micro-plankton. Along the way, confront the urgent issue of ocean pollution as you navigate through a sea of plastic waste.

This interactive, social VR adventure combines stunning visuals from Academy Award-winning micro-photographer Peter Parks, narration by Philippe and Ashlan Cousteau, and music by Gold Panda. Guests can freely move, interact with marine life, and collaborate in a shared, untethered virtual space.
