Tickets for Free Wednesdays are only available to Illinois residents. No special coupon, ticket, or pass is required to enter the Museum during Free Admission Days. Just present a current Illinois driver's license, state ID, or Chicago CityKey card at the ticket desk to establish proof of residency. If you do not have an Illinois identification card, you may establish residency by showing a valid photo ID along with one of the following:

Free Wednesdays are the perfect opportunity for you to explore our basic admission exhibitions with your family or a group of science-loving friends. Adventure through the wilderness on a desert safari, explore ancient civilizations, and come face-to-face with prehistoric creatures&mdash; all in one place. The Field Museum has so much to explore, you&rsquo;ll need more than just a day to see it all. But don&rsquo;t worry&mdash; for Illinois Residents, every Wednesday in 2024 is free.&nbsp;
Please note: For the month of June, tickets for Free Wednesdays are&nbsp;only&nbsp;available to Illinois residents on-site and cannot be reserved in advance. Please ask a Visitor Services staff member for the special offer and show your Illinois proof of residency.
For your convenience during the busy summer season, Free Day tickets are available for advanced reservation online for the month of July only. For this week's PlayLab PlayDate, families with 2-6 year olds are invited to a free, drop-in storytime session hosted by the Chicago Public Library (CPL). July is Disability PRIDE Month. Throughout this interactive storytime, guest readers from CPL will feature stories read in English and American Sign Language (ASL) that honor the disability community's history, achievements, experiences, and identities.

Join us for an exciting professional development opportunity for Pre-K-12 educators.

Trick-or-treat yourself to a night at the Field Museum! This not-so-scary after hours event will be a scream for Halloween enthusiasts of all ages. Ghosts, ghouls, and other guests will get up close and personal with creepy crawlers, conduct their own owl pellet dissection, explore fascinating exhibits, and learn about spooky specimens in our collection from our team of mad scientists.
