Join us for Indigenous Peoples' Day as our guest performers share their indigenous pride through stories, song, and dance.
- 11:00 am–11:30am Families with 2-6 year olds are invited to join us in the Crown Family PlayLab for a music and movement demonstration in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. To celebrate, Huehuecoyotl performers will visit the PlayLab before their museumwide presentation to meet with guests, discuss their regalia, chat about celebration days, and even teach a few dance steps.
- 11:00am–11:30am Starr Chief Eagle will provide an interactive and educational dive into Lakota Culture that will explore the language, art, and knowledge of the Lakota people. During her presentation, she will perform the rare tradition of Hoop Dancing in which she uses 22 hoops to create several designs, shapes, and creatures to tell a story.
- 12:00pm–12:30pm Danza Azteca - Nahui Ollin Huehuecoyotl is an ancient tradition, a prayer in motion, which helps people live a more balanced life - physically, mentally and emotionally. Danza Azteca is the cultural inheritance of the descendants of Mesoamerica’s first peoples, which they continue to teach today.

Join us in Stanley Field Hall for a special one-day event that brings the world of Indigenous knowledge, culture, and collaboration to life. At the Indigi-Fair, museum staff from across departments will host interactive tables where you can discover the incredible work we do alongside Indigenous communities across the globe.
From groundbreaking research to cultural partnerships, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how the museum and Indigenous peoples are working together to honor traditions, share knowledge, and shape the future.
Expect hands-on activities, fascinating stories, and a chance to connect with experts who are passionate about building relationships that span continents and generations.
