As Head of Exhibitions, Jaap is responsible for the development, design, and production of all exhibition projects: temporary, permanent, and traveling.
Since 2000, he has been involved with revitalizing over 150,000 square feet of permanent exhibitions and the creation of more than 175 temporary, science-based exhibitions. Jaap leads a large team including developers/writers, 2D and 3D designers, interactive and digital media producers, woodworkers, registrars, and project managers.
Prior to joining the Field Museum, Jaap produced large-scale corporate events. He started his career in the restaurant industry as the owner of Alchemy Cafe in Wicker Park. Jaap is proud of his Indonesian/Dutch heritage.
