Come meet Sophie Shrand, creator and host of the popular web series Science with Sophie. This fun, interactive session introduces the concept of combining science and comedy to create social change. Sophie will discuss how she uses comedy as a learning tool, how STEM skills are life skills, and how, when we put them together, we can find innovative ways to solve problems.

Sophie Shrand is an award-winning TV host, STEM educator, filmmaker, and entrepreneur with degrees in Behavioral Neuroscience and Theater. Her Telly Award-winning science comedy series Science with Sophie, aimed at increasing representation of women and girls in STEM, reaches 2 million families worldwide. She also hosts the web series Theory of Awesome, and is currently producing a documentary series, Sophie's Great American Electric Road Trip, in which she drove an electric car from Los Angeles to Boston and back to test sustainable travel, connect with people across the country, and find hope amidst the climate crisis. Her work has been featured by Nat Geo Kids, NPR, Scholastic, TIME for kids, and many more.
